The Faculty of Applied Sciences (FOAS), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) (previously known as Tunku Abdul Rahman University College) is an academic faculty which is grown from the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Computing (FASC) and the well-established/reputable School of Arts and Science (SAS) (established in February 1972). At present, the Faculty of Applied Sciences has 3 main departments, namely the Department of Bioscience, the Department of Physical Science and the Department of Sport Science. Currently, FOAS is offering 11 undergraduate programmes (4 Diploma and & Bachelor of Science (Hons) and 8 postgraduate programmes (4 Masters programs and 4 PhD programs).

The mission of the Faculty of Applied Sciences is to provide a learning experience beyond academic knowledge and skills which is in line with TAR UMT's mission to provide students with a learning experience beyond education. As a part of TAR UMT, the FOAS team also envisions providing a vibrant and immersive campus environment for students to develop competencies and values that lead to a fulfilling life and career.
FOAS endeavors to provide the most suitable and timely training and learning environment in 5 broad academic domains of bioscience, chemistry, physics, food and nutrition science, and sport and exercise science. In response to the rising demands of the community, we cultivate capable individuals who can adapt to the changing environment with creative minds and mastery of practical skills. Our graduates remain competitive and excel in their further studies and prospective areas of employment.
In terms of learning support, the Faculty prioritizes the students' needs by collecting and responding to their feedback on the quality of teaching in a timely manner and proactively promoting a strong rapport between the teaching staff and the students. Our faculty members are encouraged to participate in academic training to keep their knowledge updated and to enhance their professionalism. We have established partnerships with institutions at home and from abroad to provide exchange opportunities for students' academic learning and career development.
